Amateur Radio Service

Ham radio uses radio spectrum

Amateur radio is especially valuable when users want to understand and control the radio path, build stations, experiment with antennas and modes, or communicate without relying on cellular infrastructure.

Why Ask The World welcomes both communities

Many members are licensed amateur radio operators. Others have no interest in obtaining an amateur license and simply enjoy the social experience of push-to-talk communication. Both groups add value.

Amateur operators can share technical knowledge and operating experience. Non-amateur members bring different backgrounds, questions, interests, and perspectives.

Separate analog functions: Some devices may include analog transmit capabilities. Participation in Ask The World does not authorize transmission on any analog frequency. Users are responsible for understanding the rules, licensing requirements, equipment authorization, and local laws that apply to any separate radio function.
