Do I need an amateur radio license?
No amateur radio license is required to participate in Ask The World through the Poclink PoC network. A license or authorization may be required when transmitting through a separate amateur, GMRS, business-radio, marine, aviation, or other regulated radio service.
Do I need a Poclink radio?
Yes. The group is hosted on the Poclink network. A compatible Poclink radio and associated network access are required under the group’s current participation model.
Can I use a ham, GMRS, DMR, or other PoC radio?
Those radios cannot directly access Poclink Group 913452 unless Poclink officially supports that device or service. Ask The World does not operate a cross-platform gateway.
Is Ask The World operated by Poclink?
No. Ask The World is an independent, member-run community that uses the Poclink platform.
Does Ask The World sell radios or service?
No. The group does not sell radios, SIM cards, subscriptions, network access, accessories, products, or services.
Is the group only about radios?
No. Radios are a popular topic, but respectful conversation about many interests is welcome.
Can children participate?
The group is intended to remain family-friendly. Parents and guardians should supervise minors and determine whether participation is appropriate.
Can I promote my business or products?
Normal product discussion is acceptable, but repeated advertising, solicitation, or sales activity requires administrator approval.
Can I host an activity?
Yes. Members may propose activities to administrators. Hosts should understand the community guidelines and follow the standard activity process.
Can I use the group during an emergency?
The group may help people exchange information, but it is not an emergency dispatch service. Contact 911 or the appropriate local emergency service when immediate assistance is needed.
Is there a membership fee?
No. There is no fee to join Ask The World or participate in group activities.
Are contributions tax-deductible?
No tax deduction is represented or promised. Ask The World is not presented as a qualified charitable organization.
